Throughout human history, people have turned to music for comfort and support.
Now Sollos is here to take it to the next level.
What is Sollos?
Sollos is a new audio-wellness venture, brought to you by Universal Music Group.
We combine music and audio from some of the world’s best artists with cutting edge research into cognitive science and psychoacoustics, to create music and soundscapes which have been specifically engineered to help you focus, relax and sleep.
What do we do?
We curate tracks from Universal Music’s world-class roster, using a rigorous science-backed criteria to assess the audio’s suitability to support better focus, relaxation and sleep.
Our in-house engineers then use a proprietary algorithm to add special sound waves: auditory beats or coloured noise.
Scientific research has shown that these sound waves can help improve mood and enhance cognition. We call these additives sound supplements — you may not even notice them, but they’re there to infuse our music with extra goodness.
We also work closely with artist teams to produce extended remixes of tracks, reimagined to support our listeners’ daily routines. So you can listen to creative takes on tracks like Glass Animal’s summer hit ‘Heat Waves’, or Sam Smith’s heartfelt ballad ‘How Do You Sleep?’, all while unlocking better focus, relaxation and sleep.
What makes Sollos Special?
We sound good
Most music designed to help you do things is boring. Sollos works closely with artists and their teams to produce high-quality music to impact your wellbeing.
We support human artists
Unlike other offerings in the audio wellness space, we are music-centric. Our music has been hand-crafted by talented humans, featuring instrumental music from well-known artists.
We’re backed by science
Our cognitive scientists run in-house studies and partner with research institutions to inform our work and ensure our music has a real impact.
We’re highly curated
We specially curate every session, using the psychology of attention and musical expectation. We select our tracks based on the pitch, dynamics, tempo, harmonic structure, texture and genre of the audio, to support focus, relaxation and sleep.
